Description
Walter Aubrey Chitty was a builder whose business was located in Hamilton East. Wises City Directories show that from 1923 the business was located on the south side of Bridge Street near Grey Street. This is where Thomas Slade's carriage and blacksmith works was formerly located. Prior to 1923 the exact location of W.A. Chitty's business is unclear. The 1923 Wises has two entries under Grey Street for Chitty. One has him located to the right of the Masonic Hall; the other north of Bridge Street next to the monumental mason's business which was on the corner.
