Description
This is one of a series of photographs taken by the NZ Railways Publicity Department. Said to be April 1951, showing the eastern end of the station building including an early type octagonal phone box (public telephone). The station is in earlier dark livery with numerous enamel signs (though only a Bovril sign is legible) and 'Ladies Waiting Room' sign. Two gentlemen stand on the platform in conversation. In the background can be seen buildings of the Hamilton Technical School, now WINTEC.
