Object Detail

Description
Photographed form the top of Pascoe's building (CML building which was known as Pascoes as they had a large shop on the gorund floor - the office building was converted to apartments in the 1990s. Looking about west, the Hamilton City Council buildings are to the left. In front is a small arena over the underground car park entrance off Alexandra Street; the next building, single storeyed, is the Warehouse (shop); facing garden Place is the former MLC building now the National Australia Bank; Thomas Cook (travel) is second from the corner; the two storeyed building is the national bank Garden Place branch; the five storey building is un-named but usually occupied in part by dentists; last on right is the Smiling Service Stores, a wool product retailer. Some earthmoving machinery in the picture suggests work has begun on a new design for Garden Place.
