Description
Bill talks about his farming background in Puahue and his educations and remembers the clearing of swamps. He talks about his wages and working conditions and when he was a sharemilker in the area around Te Awamutu. He discusses the problems he faced with his herd, cropping, his first tractor, shearing and the farming communities he lived in. He remembers the war rations, what it was like living through the war, haymaking and the introduction of the electric fence.
