Includes a covering letter from C.W. Vennell, to Mr E.R. Doolin, the Chairman of the Waikato Regional Committee, Historic Places Trust. The letter gives a biography of the working life of Reverend Alfred Nesbitt Bown and how his work was honoured by the commemorative trees. Vennell includes Brown's journal extracts relating to his work in Maungatautari.
