Object Detail

Description
Alexandra Buildings, Hooker & Kingston and the Wesley Chambers dominate this photograph. The smaller Euston Buildings can be seen to the left of the Alexandra Buildings. S. R. Hawken Ltd., gents & boys outfitters and Jones & Whitten's The Dolly Varden, a confectionary and light refreshments establishment, occupy the ground floor of the Alexandra Buildings. The Hamilton Hardware Co. Ltd., the Foot Joy shoe store and W. Cann Hairdresser & Tobacconist all occupy the ground floor of the Wesley Chambers, while Tompkins & Wake, barristers and solicitors, have offices upstairs. Hooker & Kingston are in what was originally the Imperial Chambers.
