Description
A south westerly view across Garden Place. The square is mainly surrounded by Insurance Buildings with shops underneath; on the left hand side: Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited (CML), then the DIC Department Store and New Zealand Insurance (NZI). Alexandra Street is at the end. Just over from it we can see the Telephone Exchange in nearby Caro Street. To the right of it is the T & G Life Society building and at the right the Hamilton City Council Municipal Building on Worley Street. The sun dial and fountains are visible at centre front.
