Description
As seen from Anglesea Street, looking across the car park and Ward Street towards Bryce Street. The Government Life Building was completed in 1980 and opened by National MP Derek Quigley QSO on the 20th of February 1981. In the background on the corner of Bryce Street and Barton Street is Christies of Hamilton. It occupies the corner building which was once home to James J. Niven, engineers. Christies sold furniture, bedding, floor coverings, upholstery, soft furnishings, Manchester, and blankets.
