Object Detail

Description
Hamilton City Council's Municipal Offices as built in 1960 and seen from an elevated position in Garden Place. Alexandra Street runs horizontally between the gentlemen's underground toilets in Garden Place, and the T&G Mutual Life Society building. Worley Street runs perpendicular, between Alexandra Street and Anglesea Street. Worley Street no longer exists. The area now has a nine story Council building on it while the rest has become part of Civic Square. The Council's Reception Lounge now covers the carpark. On the hill above Anglesea Street is the Waikato Technical Institute.
