Description
This was Hamilton's Post Office for 39 years. Here it is decorated for the Silver Jubilee of King George V. This Post Office opened on the 5th of August 1901. The building was doubled in size in 1916 and in 1920 was upgraded to Chief Post Office. It remained so until 1940 when a new post office building opposite Garden Place was opened. In 1964 this building became the New Social Security Building. Today it houses the ArtsPost Galleries and Shops.
