Object Detail

Description
Crowds gathered to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The celebration appears to include army, air force and secondary school military cadets. The Ford dealer, Armstrong Motors, is on the left. On the right it looks like the Waikato Winter Show is in full swing. There is a sign announcing the "Site of M.L.C. new building" and on the extreme right are the new Dominic Buildings. The former Hamilton West School is on the hill above the coronation sign. Also visible in the image is the Anglesea Street wall and beyond that the Frankton water tower on Lake Road.
