Description
Looking at the south west end of Hamilton East's main retail and services area. At far left, on the corner of Cook Street, is the first Royal Hotel. A branch of James Robert Ellison (J.R.E.) Hatrick's drapery business, opened December 1886, is housed in Kent House, the brick building with the long sloped veranda. James Reid's saddlery is the store on the right.
