Description
The wreckage in the foreground probably includes remains of the Masonic Hall which stood here on Kent Street. Kemp Bros, furnishers, had three locations in Frankton, two on Commerce Street and this one on the southeast corner of Kent Street and Hall Street. The old water tower can be seen up on the corner of Lake Road and Tainui Street.
