Object Detail

Description
This greystone and concrete house was the home of Joseph Adam and Elizabeth Gertrude Clark. According to electoral rolls and Wises Post Office directories, the Clark's private residence was at 40 Hinemoa Street (now approximately 220 Tristram Street). Further, Wises directories show the residence was next to their cordial manufacturing plant which is listed as being at 42 Hinemoa Street. Part of the building looks quite Romanesque. Cornices and other mouldings and motifs came from England.
