Description
Photo of Garden Place taken on the 5th of July 1967. The car parking area in the immediate foreground is now occupied by the Hamilton City Council building reception lounge. The street running horizontally in the foreground is Alexandra Street. The buildings are (clockwise) MLC, not 'named' but sometime occupied by Victoria Insurance; NZI; 5 storey building sometime British Traders Insurance; Woolworths; Pascoes; BNZ (Victoria Street); Chief Post Office (Victoria Street); Norwich Union; CML; and T & G. The low profile concrete structure with long narrow apertures is the Gentlemen's underground toilets.
