Description
Aerial' view from the telephone exchange under construction on corner of Caro & Anglesea Streets. Garden Place now a grassed reserve with ring road around the perimeter of the grass. Several insurance companies were located in this vicinity. The buildings on Victoria St opposite Garden Place are the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) and the Chief Post Office. On the right two high rise buildings are occupied by the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Ltd (CML) and The National Insurance Company of New Zealand Ltd. On left is the T & G Mutual Life Assurance Society.
