Description
At this time Garden Place was predominantly a car park. Buildings, clockwise from left are, the Norwich Union Insurance Building; the CML (Colonial Mutual Life) building; Ford Armstrong Motors (with the low white fascia) on the corner of Garden Place & Alexandra Street; the National Insurance building (with clock); the T&G building; and Hamilton City Council's municipal buildings (right rear). Hamilton business Carrick Nisbet Ltd advertises Exide Batteries on the back of the bus in the foreground.
