Description
Looking south down Victoria Street the Union Bank of Australia is on the left followed by F.W.F. Fagan (Land Agent) then the Bank of Australasia. On the right is the United Insurance Coy. Ltd. On ground level is Favilles Bakery - 'Baker & Pastrycook'. Beyond them is Hugh Wright Ltd - Tailors Mercers & Gent's Outfitters. The sign on the power pole in the right foreground appears to state 'Garden Place Street' which was no more than an access lane to businesses along its length terminating at the rear entrance of the Ford dealers on Collingwood Street. Telegraph poles and power poles are in abundance. The photograph was taken in the late afternoon.
