Description
Hood Street livery & bait stables also providing bus and taxi services and horses and/or vehicles for hire. Business is advertised in Waikato Times 8/2/1907 p.3. which advertisement indicates this building timeframe. The window on the left between the large doors is signwritten 'Ladies Waiting Room' which is a specified feature of the new premises of Mr N Buchanan. A Livery stable will look after a horse including feeding watering and grooming as long as the owner wishes. Bait is a small meal over a short period - a stop in a journey.
