Signs on the telegraph in the foreground indicate ‘To the River Path’ and ‘Marlbro' Pl in lieu of Marlborough now (2020) 'Sapper Moore Jones Place.’ Buildings from left: Bond’s buildings; H H Howden – Jeweller; The Great Bargain Store – department store owned by H D Caro later Borough Councillor and five-term mayor of Hamilton) ; Harkers buildings; Hannahs buildings. Remainder are partly obscured by telegraph poles.
Tall white building, Wesley Chambers, (right of centre - left side of street) is under construction. the tall framework at rear is not explained.
