Description
First manager of the Hamilton Gasworks Company from 1899 to 1935. The works was later purchased by the Hamilton Borough Council Blackman became an employee of the Borough. he was given one months leave on full pay at his retirement. Blackman was responsible for having the Hamilton Streets 'tarred'.
