Description
Shows names of those settlers or descendants who planted oak trees on perimeter of Sydney Square (now Steele Park) on 26th August 1889 being the twentyfifth anniversary of the arrival of the 4th Militia. Inset photos are: from left - Mayor, Isaac Coates, Hamilton Borough Chambers, Mrs Coates and the centrepiece showing gathering of ex-4th Waikato Militia.

A framed copy of this plan was given by the Mayor to the city.
