Description
Looking due south, this photograph shows Victoria Street from just south of Collingwood Street to Hood Street, which is in the distance marked by the Dunlop sign on the skyline. From right to left the buildings include: Hooker and Kingston; Alexandra Buildings; Euston Buildings; Hannahs Buildings; Howden's Building; Bonds Buildings; Barton & Ross; and the Bank of New Zealand. Rising above Howden's Building is St Peter's Cathedral's clock tower. In the centre foreground a traffic officer controls traffic at the pedestrian crossing.
