This is Fa247, originally built by Vulcan Foundry Ltd as an F class 0-6-0T (saddle tank) locomotive in 1875 and converted to an Fa 0-6-0T (side tank) locomotive at Newmarket railway workshops in 1892. This photograph was taken prior to a subsequent conversion to 0-6-2 by the addition of a trailing truck and an enlarged cab and coal bunker somewhere between 1900 and 1905. Fa247 was written off in September 1929.
