Description
A large and well utilised stand in Victoria St between Ward Street and the railway crossing. About thirty six cycles are stood here without any sign of a lock. the motor vehicle stopped at the pedestrian crossing appears to be a 1939 Studebaker. On the opposite side of the street (from left) are: Ivy covered Ellis & Burnand Ltd head office; small gabled Railway Crossing Keeper's hut; railway crosses Victoria St; advertising hoarding '4 rooms for £87-10' at Reid's; King's Chambers. The pedestrian crossing was laid down in December 1937.
