Description
Returned servicemen make their way south along Victoria Street towards Hood Street. Buildings and/or businesses in the photograph, from right to left, are the original Barton & Ross; The New Zealand Clothing Factory Branch No. 31; the Argus Buildings, former home to the Waikato Argus newspaper; the Bank of New Zealand; and on the southwest corner of Victoria and Hood streets is the Hamilton Buildings.
