Description
This image is from a postcard from Cartwright's Tourist Series no.8173. Hamilton Lake (Lake Rotoroa) was a popular swimming spot until the mid 1960s when chemicals were added to control the spread of noxious weeds. "Neck to knee" bathing suits were compulsory until December 1938.
