Description
Men stand on the veranda of Gwynne's Hamilton Hotel on the corner of Victoria Street and Marlborough Place in Hamilton, New Zealand. The hotel was bought by Richard Gwynne and his wife in 1874. After the death of Mr Gwynne in 1883, his widow carried on the business until 1897. The hotel had 18 bedrooms and stabling for 25 horses. This hotel was destroyed by fire on 3 April 1922. Also visible in the image horses and carriages.
