Description
As seen from the north west. Construction began in 1977 and was completed in 1980. National MP Derek Quigley QSO officially opened the building on the 20th of February 1981. Beyond at left is Regency House, on the corner of Ward Street and Alexandra Street (now Worley Place) and the Post Office building housing the Telegraph branch over on Caro Street. On the right is the Waikato Technical Institute and in the building on the south west corner of Anglesea Street and Ward Street is Odlins Limited. The car park in the foreground is now part of Centre Place shopping centre.
