Description
As seen from the north west corner of Anglesea Street and Bryce Street, looking towards Ward Street. The Government Life building was completed in 1980 and opened by National MP Derek Quigley QSO on the 20th of February 1981. Other buildings that can be seen, from left to right, are the Railway Buildings on the corner of Victoria Street and Ward Street, which at this time accommodated P&M Plaza; Regency House on the corner of Ward Street and Alexandra Street (now Worley Place); the Bank of New Zealand building on Victoria Street; the Arcadia Building and Hamilton Public Library on opposite sides of Alexandra Street (now Worley Place); and in the distance is the rear of the British Traders Insurance building.
