Description
Part of the derelict Hamilton gasworks retort. This is an outlet for the breeze waste that comes from coke. The gas works opened in 1895 and expanded over the years until it was closed in March 1970 due to the introduction of natural gas. The works were situated between Clarence and Thackeray Streets.
