Description
An early view from near the site of the west redoubt at the south end of Victoria Street (Tisdall Street at the time). Some buildings can be seen on Grantham Street which was where European settlers first established businesses before relocating higher up to Victoria Street. St Peter's Church faces Tisdall Street on the left of the image. Across the river Memorial Drive (first River Road) is visible, and Jubilee Bush can be seen on the horizon.
