Description
Barges joined by lashing or welding? The barge was moored to both sides of the river and subsequently used in the construction of Cobham Bridge, for cranes among other applications.

These two barges belonged to the Ministry of Works-not Roose. they were trucked over from Tauranga. After Cobham bridge they were separated, towed down to Mercer where one was scrapped, the other trucked across to Wakatiwai and was used at a mussel farm in the Hauraki Gulf.
