Thanks for your comment John. We believe this photo is Mayor Denis Rogers who is indeed on a railcar which ran between Hamilton Central and Claudelands stations celebrating the opening of the ‘underground’ railway on 19 September 1964. We will update our information accordingly.

Could this be a photo of Mayor Mike Minogue on an RM Class railcar? Maybe at the 1975 opening of Hamilton station?
