Description
Looking about south east across the street to Days buildings on extreme left (formerly Ellis & Burnand Ltd head office. A small light coloured building is the railway crossing keeper's hut. The buildings beyond are: King's Chambers, Kings Buildings, Booth and Chapman (white frieze) South British Insurance Co Ltd (dark frieze) which is on the corner of Victoria and Alma Streets. Opposite on Alma Street is the Bank of New South Wales (white building). The locomotive is a K or K derivative heading eastwards. The vehicles waiting arefrom left at front: small lorry carrying two water tanks; Volkswagen; dark coloured c. 1953 Vauxhall Velox; c. 1957 Ford Prefect (white); pick-up utility 'Motospecs for service'. At rear, a second Ford Prefect c. 1957 and a c. 1956 Ford Customline Station Wagon.
