Staff and management of Grigg's Bakery stand in front of the bakery which was on, but set back from Alexandra Street. This two-story brick building was a recent construction. It replaced a previous wooden bake house. Signs proudly announce that Grigg's Bakery bread is made with milk. The delivery lorries all appear to be Model T Fords. Robert Allan Grigg was born in Greytown in 1867. He moved to Hamilton in 1898 and worked as a baker for E J Davey. In 1908 he bought the bakery and operated the business as Grigg's Bakery for the next 40 years. Mr Grigg died in 1962.
