Description
Kenrick Maclean was born in 1892, one of five children of Charles and Isabella Maclean of Waitoa. In civilian life he was a bank teller. He embarked on 16 October 1916, bound for Devonport, England, on the Willochra, a member of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 9th Reinforcements, 3rd Battalion, G Company. Sergeant Maclean was killed in action at Ypres on 4 October 1917, serving with the Auckland Infantry Regiment, and his name is included on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium.
